Take a hike, Ike!!

I have read this on other Texan friends blogs today too, but I have to put my own on here because I think our luck has run out this year! "They" (the weather guys) say we have to wait 2 more days to kow for sure, but look where Ike is pointing!
and look where I am! (and a few of my friends, we're all labeled in red.)
not liking Ike at the moment, but will wait and see what TPTB say and start batting down the hatches in the next few days. Have plywood, have hurricane kit (thanks, Dad!) and will bug out if need be! So here are some pics from today.
out the back

from the pier by the marina, the bridge in the middle is the Kemah bridge, past that is Galveston Bay.

the pool and clubhouse. This is high tide for today. All I can do today is watch and wait! Prayers for all my Gulf Coast friends! Will post another update in the next day or so!

Sigh. Yes, we're keeping our eyes on it, too. You know I am on your map, too - not far from you at all. Maybe a couple of miles. Guess I better make sure we've still got all our stuff together from Edouard....

Hello !

Cela ressemble à un petit port de pêche d'à côté de chez moi...

This may be the one, huh? We're not planning to evacuate, unless it's a very strong cat 3, but we're definitely going to be prepared for a week without electricity, if there is such a thing as preparation for that event. My in-laws are also in Seabrook, and we're just down the road from y'all. My sister's in Katy, and my mom's in Humble. So... maybe we should all just get a cottage up in Livingston or something? Come to think of it, I have a blogger friend with a cabin up there. Hahaha. Sure she won't mind us crashing!

Hi Kris, thanks for dropping by my place. Hoping Ike misses your place, but it even looks like us Okies may get the after-effects!

It has turned yet again. But who knows where Ike will finally decide to settle? Goodness. It's crazy.

Thank you so much for your kind offer & concern! It's good to know that I have people to go to in times of need. I appreciate it.

Thanks for stopping by on my SITS day, Kris! Glad you manage to get away to go scrapping every once in awhile--that's a journey into memory land for me, and then I'm always glad to get back home. Good for everyone!

Ike be still!! Praying that for all of you.
